Finally got round to starting a thread in PG&C:

Might be updating this blog a bit less often as a result - I still intend to keep posting about poker here but it'll likely be a "bigger picture" like weekly / monthly graphs and general thoughts rather than HHs and graphs from each individual session.

January so far

Just a quick update, I've been putting in a lot of volume this year and running great too so I'm up about $1.5k including FPPs and generally feeling really good about my work ethic and my game. My BR is about $5.3k now so I'm back at 100NL and the tables have been surprisingly soft lately. Graph of this year:

26.5k hands is pretty sick in my books. Doing a $50 pool for 1mm hands in 2012 with a friend, which is massively -EV for me as I have a full time job and he plays poker full time.

I guess it's good to have some motivation though so hopefully I'll make that $50 back from playing more...

As you can see from the graph I've been trying out HM2 and I'm undecided about it - I really appreciate the massively increased import speeds and general snappiness. It's also got a lot of polish about it, but there are a lot of minor issues I have with it, e.g. the lack of contrast on the graphs, the random horizontal scrollbar (I mean wtf is that for) and a couple of annoying things about the HUD and report layouts. But overall it's pretty good and I'll probably end up upgrading to it this month (before the upgrade discount expires).

'12 tabling

This year I've been 12-tabling with mixed success - we're 3 days into 2012 and I've already played about 9k hands which I'm really happy with. Results-wise I'm only up about $120 after a -5BI session I just finished (ran pretty awful) but I'm pleased with how I've been playing today and yesterday. On Sunday I found myself drifting off a lot - ended up playing super nitty and missing a ton of spots, but since then I feel I've been playing my A-game about 85% of the time...
