Supernova in 2011!

gogogo!

I've decided I'm gonna take the plunge and try to hit Supernova this year, probably the 300k milestone which I'm a bit behind pace for at the moment but it's still early days. Stars is definitely a lot tougher than Full Tilt so my winrate has taken a hit, but I'm not sure it's enough to cancel out the ~1.4bb/100 extra rakeback I'm gonna be getting.

I've got used to the software and no longer hate it as much as I did a couple weeks - I bought a mod that gives me full-face cards rather than overlapping ones, and I'm using a trial of TableNinja which is working great. I don't really trust myself with hotkeys so it's just for putting default bet sizes in the bet box, but it's saving me a few hundred clicks an hour and seems to work a lot more reliably than other programs / scripts I've used so I'll probably end up buying it.

Results-wise it's been a bit disappointing, I'm roughly breakeven over the last 2-3 weeks despite putting in nearly 60k hands, although I've been getting used to playing higher volume than before, and it's not a huge sample or anything so I'll have to re-evaluate it when I've put in another 100k hands or so. Thankfully I'm up about $2k in rakeback, bonuses and FPPs :)

I have found myself auto-piloting a lot and just playing really nitty, around 18/16 or so, which is not totally unexpected when playing 12 tables but clearly I was missing out on a lot of +EV spots. I've switched it up a bit over the past few days, running more like 22/19 and barrelling off a lot more postflop, and as a result my redline has gone from a -10bb/100 trainwreck to being roughly breakeven over the past 5k hands or so. I know it happens a decent amount over such small samples and I'm not a redline whore or anything, but I feel it's a decent metric of how much attention I've been paying and whenever I look back at better months in my DB it's been breakeven or slightly losing.

Gonna get back to grinding now, GL in 2011 everyone

GL with the SN pursuit. I'd imagine the 100k should be easy for you to get. I'm curious to hear why you made the shift from FT to Stars...

Thanks!

One of the main reasons is that FTP really screws you over in terms of RB, especially now they calculate your MGR differently so most regs get equivalent to 22% RB... I also play a lot more volume now, which makes the Stars VIP scheme a lot more worthwhile for me than it used to be.

It's also a bit of a trial run, I'll see how it goes on Stars this year and might end up moving back to FTP or play multiple sites depending on various factors like my WR on Stars etc
