Post-Xmas Update

Time of good will and happiness, yadayadayada where are my presents? Contrary to popular belief, atheists are just as greedy and materialistic as Christians, and in that respect I did pretty well out of this year's Xmas :)

Xbox games... consumables (ship the Hine)... copy of Atlas Shrugged... uh, don't ask.

Seriously though, despite no-one in my family being remotely religious, it was nice to spend some time together, even if there isn't a whole lot to do where I live. My grandma was in hospital after falling over so I had to go visit her on Xmas day, which was a little depressing as the place was full of old people who were sitting in the TV room sleeping with their Xmas hats on, lol. It was hilarious listening to my grandma moaning about how senile and decrepit the others were, while my Dad was cringing and trying to get to her to show a bit more tact, as they were about 10ft away. "Oh don't worry they can't hear me anyway", loooool.

Poker-wise, I've only put in about 15k hands since my last update, roughly breakeven but nothing that interesting to report. Been running pretty bad since, but I won't bore you with HHs etc.

In total I've played about 38k hands in the last couple weeks, without feeling like it's a ridiculous amount of effort or anything. Granted, I haven't had that much else to do, but I think I can continue to put in close to this volume during term time (at least after my exams) if I make an effort, and cut my live poker down a bit, as I'm often putting in 40 hours at the felt during weekends. The games on Stars are a bit tougher than FTP and I'm still getting used to the software (which sucks at smallest table size, and I tile all my tables) but given the FTP rake changes, doubling my RB is something I can't really pass up. An alternative option is to play FTP and Stars at the same time, picking the best tables from each, but because of the way the Stars VIP program works, it's gonna eat into my RB a lot. Could still be a viable option though, if it increases my WR, also I get free CardRunners that way. Or I could play several different stakes at once, like 0.50/1 and 1/2 - that way I'm putting in all my volume on Stars and get a large pool of games to choose from. Still weighing up my options, feel free to chime in.
