I got back from France a couple days ago, skiing was great - first couple days it snowed a ton so visibility was pretty crap, but after that it was lots of good soft snow and clear sunny weather. Didn't have many epic bails this time around, although on the penultimate day I did manage to knee myself in the face and was spitting out blood for the next few mins, lol. The final night party was really sick too, they had Chase & Status and Pendulum performing (both were awesome obv). Pic of our group:
Had to wake up at like 3:45am on the last day so was sleeping for most of Saturday but then went and got my X Factor fix and played some poker yesterday evening... tables were so sick and at one point I was 300bbs+ deep with position on a huge 750bb fish. Did get stacked by said fish earlier on in the session:

Limper was another huge fish, which is the main reason I flatted pre, but also since the PFR made it 12bbs it's gonna be easy to get stacks in postflop on a good board, even OOP. Obviously being OOP and the fact the opener is a fish who probs calls a lot of 3bets are both reasons to 3bet but overall I'm happy with my flat. If you disagree, leave a comment! Postflop is pretty standard, I don't feel great when he checks because it does make his range a lot stronger, but tbh I think the only way to play it on turn and riv is to bomb it and hope he has something like JT.
Couple of standard hands here:

I think my line is good here, river is probs too thin to bet, since it does hit some of his gutshots (and he can have Jx of course). I hate my bet sizing though, I should have bet a lot bigger on flop and turn since there are so many draws and he's such a station.
That said, I think it's a good example of a spot where you have to avoid autopiloting - people check turn back waaaay too often here because they only have 2nd pair and they think a check is "standard", when in fact it's a clear value bet.
Anyways, turned out to be a pretty good session which paid for Xmas and then some. Boom.
Oh and gratz to George for boxing a donkament for 11k, buy something nice sir.
